i think part of the issue is fundamentally entwined in what the game is at its core, i.e. campaign vs multiplayer expereicne. for as long as there are multiplayer shooters there will be active forums (look how long it took to get Halo 2 off the grid). But with a game like Uncharted 2, despite whatever secondary dlc or multiplayer components they attempt to tack on, its still fundamentally a 1-person campaign experience. like a movie: great to talk about when it first drops, and old news by...
with so much love being given to throwbacks like donkey kong, kirby, and the like, i am REALLY happy they brought EWJ back - even if its only in a downloadable throwback (admittedly, there may not have been enought there to warrant a $60 followup).
im still really new to pc gaming, and the dualshock series is a great segway into the genre as well as a nice niche discussion about the games involved.
glad to see they've finally streamlined the gameplay - it was tough spending almost as much time in the play selection as the gameplay. this is the game 2 bring me back 2 the franchise.
great review, but the game itself escapes me a little bit - a bit too childlike for my taste, almost like a watered down version of Final Fantasy...
i think this is the game that will push me over the edge to finally buy a PS3 ...
great episode!
promising demo - looking forward to more coverage on this title.
great topic to hit upon .... as evidenced by the number of viewer and comments, its clearly a topic we all have instant opinions about (and tons of experience w/, probably)
so, what category do you think DC Universe Online is going fall into? are they trying to hard to appeal to too many genres?
there's going to be such a rush of Halo news over the next 6 weeks - any1 want to make predictions now of how many copies they'll sell in the first 48 hours?
guess where i'll be tomorrow night?
when someone tells me they're made a WIRED Reach controller, put me down for two.
i love the halo: reach news - good coverage!! it really scratches my itch ..
i must admit, the slew of PS titles i keep seeing has got me checkin the bank acct to see if i can afford a new console yet ....
fair enough. don't get me wrong, i hope it does turn out to be great b/c i loved the original Goldeneye, but to say its going to get me back to my Wii?! thats a tall order, my friend ...
i mean, its one thing to rehash a franchise, but to simply rehash the exact game?! this is a classic example of a company going back to the well in out of desperation to get our $$$. I'll sooner buy a 3DS before i dust off my Wii.
am i the only one that feels that new goldeneye is just a bit too much like the OLD goldeneye - this game may suffer from the nostalgia that made it soo great it forgets it get enough updates to make it current again - and, on the Wii?! blaaah ...
making gamers purchase a console b/c of a specific game is nearly facism. if games were multi-platform, consoles would be forced to stand on their own merits rather than riding the coat-tails of exclusive games. you should buy a console b/c its plays ur game well, not b/c its the only store in town.
That being said, PS3 gamers should suck it b/c Sony can count the number of profitable quarters they've had on 1 hand. God of War 3 had horrible sales which is why the pr...
this is the NFS game i've been waiting for since Underground - awesome coverage, Chad. this is on my personal must-buy list when it drops - one should always a good racer in the arsenel.
