Why do you have to reveal your insecurity? You're only pwning yourself. This is not a popular genre, unlike shooters like Mass Effect 2 (well, third person shooter with touches of RPG, to be precise ;D). I expected less than a million for a game in its lifetime given its exclusivity status and that it's kinda niche, but half a million in one week is just amazing and brings a ray of hope for the industry as it gets flooded with shovelware and shooters.

That's what they want you to believe so that you go out there and buy it. You probably believed Ninja Gaiden, Braid, Bioshock, Lost Planet, and all those JRPGs would never appear on PS3, lol.
I haven't had to pay a dime to google (or at least not directly), yet Microsoft and Apple have nickeled and dimed me to dead for things that should be cheaper or that should have no DRM to begin with. So, so far, Google has been good, in spite of its ads. And as I said before too, it's likely to change, so your point is moot.

But if I had to choose a company between Microsoft, Apple and Google, I'd choose google. Hell, I love my PS3, but I would hesitate to trust Sony before Google after knowing Sony's astute history. Google, in spite of its power over the net and excessive ads is still perceived by my eyes as friendly. Hopefully that won't change, but it probably will, sadly.

Metacritic is a bigger failure because it's taken seriously, so their impact in terms of "game X is better than game Y" is big (as far as those naïve enough to follow metacritic).
