I just don't get it.
For the same reasonable price to get a PC built, ~$599-1299, you get a machine that can't play console exclusives, and can't play basically any Windows games.
Why wouldn't someone just get a similarly priced PC, even in a cool compact case if they really wanted, and have Windows on it.
6v6 for a nextgen killer app is pretty sad anyway you spin it.
Mind you, 720p for a nextgen-killerapp is also kinda sad.
People are defending it saying some of the best MP experiences they've had were with smaller player counts, then go on to cite games that existed when smaller player counts were all that existed.
Can't anyone appreciate that their love for said lower player count game may pivot around the fact that larger scal...
Halo 5 teaser.
You heard it here first folks ;p (I'm guessing)
Greatness NOW!
(not really a joke, but the best I could come up with)
Who cares? (not I)
I hate the Windows Media Centre streaming, namely cause it basically only supports M-peg4.
How are these Steamboxes going to manage drivers and updates?
Does Steam manage those things on PCs currently?
Are steamboxes going to work exactly like a console, with everything in the background essentially?
This is a silly question, but one that must be answered in order for me to even imagine myself getting a Steambox.
What would happen if I wanted to order a Steambox from one of these various parties, and said "I want WindowsOS on it too."
(and not the $2500 Tiki)
Like, for $599~ (up to $1300) the specs are arguably about that of what most people could build on a similar budget.
Then you take out windowsOS, and you're lef...
And YouTube, and web-browsers, and more.
I don't get why someone would pay essentially the same price for a budget-build PC, WITHOUT windows, and all the games, and other functionality.
Exactly, I have nextgen consoles. AND a gaming-PC with exactly the same specs as the Steam Machines.
My PC was built for me (NCIX) so maybe in years from now, if I want another
With so many different builds, it's difficult to see what differentiates these from regular gaming-PC builds.
Oh, they don't have Windows. So for very marginally less, depending on your PC building know-how (maybe more), you get a gaming-PC without Windows and the games that require Windows.
Is that what we consider a 'shot' these days?
Comparing Apples (units) and Oranges (accounts).
That's most likely cause PC gamers are the most likely to see through the "definitive" improvementes, as well as the retail price!
I think some people are missing the fact that they did include tablets and smartphones.
TL;DR = "Xbox One > Xbox 360."
-----------------------------
Between the $39.99 (Xbox One) and $29.99 (Xbox 360) for PvZ:GW, and the $11.99 pricetag for Peggle2, I am super impressed with PopCap's pricing!!
I feel like $49.99 is the least they could do, considering
I haven't played it, and the (dumb) feeling is still there
That depends greatly on how it's received.
My hopes are that it will be tremendous rewarding for them
And in turn have an effect on the industry by setting the example that gamer-focus still pays off
Exactly
My forgiveness is open for the taking the day they fix Battlefield 4....
meanwhile, I would be led to believe they don't want forgiveness.
(I have friends who are far less forgiving, who now say COD is way better than BF merely because 'it plays' - and I can't really deny them that, can I?)
You must be looking at Steam on Windows.
Have you seen the list of games supported my SteamOS?
The only AAA is Metro:LL. The rest are indie.
