No it really isn’t. Long-Term crunch has proven to have mental and physical strain on the developers and ND should’ve put the safety of their team first regardless. Also, the fact that ND looks for that type of person means they know they can take advantage of that and as much as I love ND and their games, I’d be happy waiting longer if it meant they wouldn’t have them do this.
They should be, but also crunch is bad and I hope ND reconsider putting the team through that again.

No, no. “It is what it is” isn’t a valid excuse to justify long periods of crunch. You can achieve this level of quality without putting your developers through high amounts of stress which isn’t good for them both physically or mentally. Crunch doesn’t somehow equate into high quality.
