Game is honestly a 10, unique non-repetive side quests, great cast of characters, and awesome story telling, It's a major leap for LoZ games and a huge move forward in its formula. The previous zelda games were awesome, but this one topped them all, although in terms of story, its tight with Twilight Princess.
Then you're not a "massive" zelda fan. Don't call yourself that. Any hardcore and "massive" zelda fan, will recognize that this game is a 10 indeed. It took all the open world concepts that made previous games great, tweaked them and refined them for the better. One of the most amazing things is how so many side quests are unique and not just do the same shit over and over again like so many open world games. Looking at you Mad Max, and Far cry.

@Utalkin2me Its the most powerful mobile gaming system on the market, how is it "behind times". Its features and functionality are all software based, and will be expanded upon in the months to come. The online experience for it is already being set up to be launched in the Fall. Every new system generally has limitations on Launch and then those are added gradually over time. It really is, even if it does use concepts from other games; by combining that with the Zelda formula, it just makes Breath of the Wild, one of the greatest games of all time. I played and beat Twilight Princess, the battle mechanics were excellent, but Breath of the Wild adds more layers to the combat with its use of Sheika Slate, and different gameplay mechanics that each weapon offers you, like the Spears, or Swords, or Axes.
Breath of the Wild is one of the best games ever made. Hands down. Ask anyone who's played it, they will tell you the same. The level of depth in battle mechanics and exploration is unmatched. From things like being careful to not have metal equipment out so you don't get shocked by lightning when climbing a mountain, to watching enemies battle tactics so you can counter them. People must have not gotten the memo. The Switch's online features are incomplete and will released in the Fall of this year, as stated by Nintendo. Why even review its Online features? Every switch owner knows, that the current online offerings of the switch are very minimal. Nintendo is building an online experience to be released later this year.
I would like to mention that as Yoko Taro director of Nier said, you don't need to have played the original NieR to enjoy or understand this game. It's very much its own story and has its own direction. However, there will be easter eggs or things here and there that the original fans of NieR will see and appreciate it.
I wouldn't worry about this, as this feature is standard across all multimedia devices and video game consoles. Most likely they will be adding this feature either via software update, or when they release their new online infrastructure that they're working on in the fall of this year.
