Counter Strike's resurgence back to the mainstream of esports has been impressive. The original game was around when I was like 12... hasn't really changed all that much.

Damn, the PS4 absolutely smashed it. There are way more Nintendo products than I thought would be here, for some reason. I guess it makes sense -- the other consoles didn't get into their stride until later.
The fact that the Switch is outpacing handheld consoles is pretty nuts. I'd expect it is achieving similar feats in Japan.

Microsoft don't share sales stats for a reason... because they aren't selling well. I'm sure halo 5 would have been 4th or 5th.. Gears maybe make it on too. But when you consider that those are the only two Xbox one "exclusives" that would have made it, it's pretty sad reading. PS4 for the win.

I agree with the article. I think Microsoft has already missed the boat with the iterative console for this generation. Pro is really all you need, especially now it has boost mode. Why would I rush out and get Scorpio? I might if there were games... but if it's just better 4k and more consistent 60fps, who cares?
I'm quite happy to wait another 18 months for Sony to announce PS5, which will in turn be better than Scorpio with its own exclusive games.
It really isn't looking good for Xbox One in the early part of this year. If there's no games for Scorpio it's good night.

I think 2017 is going to be remember as the best year in the past decade. Better than 2007? Possibly, if games don't get delayed.
I'm not really surprised Sony didn't announce anything for the rest of 2017. I did take issue with no release dates at all, though. I mean, we've been waiting for Detroit for a long time now... not even a window? Come on!
