Uh, Call of Duty gets released every year... It's been a year since Killzone 2 came out. This Christmas would make it almost 2 years since KZ2's release date.

Well if Microsoft never made Xbox, would PSN be in existence today? I hate to say it but Microsoft has influenced Sony in many ways just as Sony influenced Microsoft. It's best to have more than 1 console so either company can take one another's idea and build from it. Competition is the best thing you can ask for.
Although Microsoft could've taken their time with the hardware and release it in 2006 along with the PS3 and Wii, this way they would've had a better hardware.
