Either way, play the game yourself (rent it if you like) and make a decision by your self. If you want to follow reviews, then read all of them and see the pro and cons of it and decide if it is a game for you or not. Still best is to try it out yourself.

But hey GT5 should be around 8.5-9. Which is a good game, so go buy it.
GT5 is good, but seriously, you don't have to use rewind option if you don't want to. Just slam straight into a wall (with all helper turn off) and see if you can continue on racing. Seriously dude, don't need more trash talking back and forth.
Both game are good racing sim. And i don't think you are anymore mature then the 15 year old kid either. If you are around 30 or so, you definetly need to grow up faster man.
it is not bull shot, it is in photo mode i believe, but the ingame doesn't look anything close to that if you have played the game.
The problem is that people really think GT5 ingame play look like that and that why many were disappointed.
actually most review are within the same range 8-9 (mostly around 8.5. What inconsistence are you talking about?
The game is great, but the additional features seem rush (seem to be tag on so to speak -> possibly to claim it a definitive racing).
1. 1000+ cars (most of them are standard, and those just well, you know how it looks and play, not very good to look at and the sad part, they outnumbered the premium ones). GT5 could do without them serio...
actually it does look like that unfortunately. I think PD should just get rid of all the standard car (trying to boost the amount of cars available) and focus on the premium ones.
GT5 is just well, inconsistent would be the right word. When it is great, it would wow you. But then there are time when you just like WTF, especially with the standard car models (unfortunately it make up quite large chunk of GT cars list).
true, but after playing WRPG and going back to grinding for level, i can see why JRPG aren't well not fun anymore (despite they still have fantastic art style, great story, etc...)
i don't know about other game, but forza is a pretty good sim (if you turn off all of the assistant, know how to tune your car properly for specific track, etc......you'll see the difference).
GT and forza are both good games, it just that the hype and the trash talk kill it. like this:

yeah, it seems a lot of the features are add on at the end and kinda mess the entire game up. It might not be PD fault though (could be Sony wanting to make it a definitive racing game, but there are limit to what people can do with the hardware and the time given).
Still a good game, so if you are GT fan, go and buy it. You won't be disappointed, and don't be swayed by the review either.
i think the number of standard car are too much for PD to make it in time. They might be able to get more car DLC, but i would rather if PD focus on making new car for DLC then fine tuning standard car (kinda late for that and not enough time)

exactly. It is not like GT5 is bad (GT5 and Forza are the best sim game around), well the fanboy just make it more than it suppose to be (remember better than real life photos?)
exactly fel08. GT5 isn't a bad game at all, FAR from it. But with the crazy hype and the better than real life photo, i guess people expect nothing but perfect. Hope people learn some lesson.

Why do you let review affect you so much, if you like the dam game then buy it and play it for what it is. That is all i got to say.
try shutting off all the helper and see how you do. Forza 3 try to expand the range of gamers, but it is not lacking either if you wanted to go hardcore.
I'm tired of all the dam plain statement. Can't you guys ever back it up with evidence, comparison, etc....at least something. What is FACT. By making a statement and then tag on FACT at the end meaning it is fact?

Does GT5 have AA? It might be the reason why things can look a little jaggy especially the shadow and the standard car (shrug). But it does make up in other areas. In the end, i think both forza and GT are great game. I guess only fanboy would loose sleep over it.
