If you want extremely detailed and Realistic characters play resident evil 5. Kratos got nothing on it. You can compare Drake hair to Chris hair as well, and if only Kratos has hair for comparison.
I thought GoW3 was a good game, but the story is not as great. It is a hack and slash type of game, and for what it is, i think the story is ok compare to many other hack and slash game.

yeah i think people (probably just peeps on N4G), doesn't really enjoy game because it is fun anymore. It is about textures, graphics, fanboy wars, load of craps, etc.....
Who cares, if the game is fun and even if it look like nes or atari, i would still play it and enjoy it more so than game w/ greatest graphic ever but boring.

Unless you know how those games are developed and you know how they are coded on different platforms, then you would have a better understanding of the "Technical" advance of each systems. Until then, all you can do is listen to developers hyping up their games about technical marvel (more so on Sony side, or rather on N4G mostly) with the intention of selling you their games or to fuel the retarded fanboy war on N4G.

I think they all have certain influence over each other, and this kinda of stories/set peaces are influence from Indiana Jones movies. I think to a certain extend, some elements of these games may inspire other games (UC focus on details, Tom raider start out with treasure hunting and puzzle, Gears introduce some great gameplay like hord mode, etc....).

If you want traditional turn based JRPG, Lost Odyssey is probably the best this gen. If you like previous FF games, i don't see why you wouldn't like Lost odyssey. I actually like it even more so than the previous FF games.
