That is a must buy purchase from Sony, even if they don't have much money left, to stay relevant next Gen. Sony doesn't have the software capability like MS, apple, google so how do u catch up interm of online cloud service (which everyone else is moving forward too)? Developers always say we need higher budget to meet consumers demand
Producer and shareholder always say we need to reduce cost and maximize profit or else the business will fall.

The problem of comparing halo to kz is that halo has higher rating AND sell compare to kz, where as forza sell less but has higher rating than gt.
Perhaps we should judge them differently like this:
Sell = how popular the game is
Rating = determine actual quality of the game.
Then halo beat kz both in popularity and quality, where as gt is more popular but lacks quality compare to forza
Linux is powerful if u know how to use it. But most people aren't that litterate about computers so they opted for apple or window cause they are much more user friendly. The reason why u don't see virus is because like u said, the market share for Linux is so small so it isnt worth it.

Hardcore = dedication / put a lot of effort into improving your game
Practically any game can be hardcore/casual, it is just how you go about it. Example, dance dance revolution. Would you think it is hardcore if people actually have competition? Would you think Tetris is hardcore because that gamegod from Japan sure spend his lifetime playing it to perfection.

Ah lost odyssey? It has everything u asked for likes towns, ship (u can travel under the sea, on the water or just fly over the entire world map just like back in the day). In my opinion it also has one of the best story and character development in jrpg this gen as well. FF isn't the only jrpg game u know.
