The CMA is setting a precedent that they can block deals despite given assurances and remedies. and make flimsy arguments based on an unknown future.
But it's clear that the CMA did not want to converse.
CMA is not a hero here. The aim here is to make big tech bend as much as possible.

The result of the acquisition would have been Bobby Kotic leaving Activision as he stated. This would have also given gamers a chance to access games at a cheaper price through game pass.

It's blocked because of the potential cloud services that have yet to emerge and allowed them a chance to compete whenever they do emerge. But solutions were already put in place for COD to be on those existing cloud services. but CMA has blocked the deal.
