I'd pay even $1000 if I know the machine will outshine PC for next 2 years. I remember when first xbox came out. High end PC's couldn't match the graphics and new technologies used there for quite a while. Now current consoles struggle with 30 fps and medium pc settings.
I thought the game was good despite its server issues. Still not worth almost 70 Euro for preorder considering it has so little content. I think this game should not cost more than $30.
It wouldn't due to bad release timing. Halo + Fallout released in around same time.
The game is great. Problem was the release timing.
Witcher 3 has no competition this year. True next gen experience. The amount of work that went into this gave is mind blowing.
Great job but original textures look way more natural. For example the first screens with huge rocks are missing the brighter edges and scratches, making the rocks look dull and unnatural. Just needs some adjustments.
It's not that xbox one is weaker in every way. Both consoles have their strengths and weaknesses. PS4 weakness is alpha effects and anisotropic filtering. Xbox one weakness is resolution.
I'm just a little worried about 720p in recent videos. Hope it's not connected in any way to final resolution. I think 900p and stable FPS will be good enough. I'd prefer 720p with good AA only if it would be a matter of going 60 fps.
But doesn't the game look absolutely stunning?
I'm a huge Fallout fan, and even bigger fan of Bethesda RPG games but Witcher 3 just set new standards. The graphics, storytelling, world that looks handcrafted...it's just new quality. It's very impressive how you can go into any detailed interior in witcher without loading screens, how you can look at the busy city through the window in a tavern while sipping a beer. In Fallout, you have to wait a long time till location loads, just to leave you feeling disconnected from the wor...
Agreed. 60/30 fps big difference 1080p/900p with right AA almost no difference on TV.
Oh I remember when MS came out wth the idea of game streaming long time ago. N4g community ate MS and the idea alive, bashing it at every step how it sucks because it will lag, it will require super fast internet connection etc. Now that sony is investing in it, it's best thing ever and future of gaming. You guys...
Such a click bait title. Don't bother guys.
Damn MS, really good stuff. I like that they are reaching for bigger games, not just indies. Always wanted to try Thief and will definitely get Operation Flashpoint.
Exactly,
Judging by all the disagrees on your comment, n4g armchair devs have no idea how it works. Project Morpheus delivers 960 x 1080 resolution for each eye (expect huge pixels in your face, If you tried old versions of oculus you'll know what I'm talking about) and that needs to run at perfectly stable 60 fps with ZERO lag and ZERO frame drops even for split second, else you might end up vomiting, having headaches etc. Graphically, you can expect games on par with best ps...
Because they should spend time making new games not up a resolution (emulator on pc can do better job for free) and sell it for this high price.
Thanks to the streaming feature, my brother finally has the ability to play more. His wife was taking over the TV all the time. Now he just streams xbox one to PC. Awesome!
Seriously, Sony overdoing it with remasters this gen...
emulating ps3 would be awesome, emulating ps2 is a complete waste. How many of us still have ps1 and ps2 discs?
Care to elaborate? Comparing VR tech to Hololens is like comparing a calculator to a PC.
