You could probably throw in the latest GTA. Some amazing stuff coming for sure...
I agree: the combination of open world and good story is necessary. If it falls down at one or the other it isn't nearly as satisfying
It looks good for survival horror games as more seem to be on the way!

Not sure I agree; I personally think they should just stick to software, but you do get sick of the pissing comp between MS and Sony

I'm a bit sick of all the same Ips for Nintendo and would love to see more new ones established with all that $$$ they make from Mario and Pokemon...like what Ubi do.
They make money with sequels and then produce new risky Ips.
Ubisoft really have their act together: Use existing IPs to fund new ones.
Looking forward to the return of true stealth in Thief, Splinter cell, and eventually MGS V.
They all look pretty spectacular but also very very derivative...

They knew from their early press conference that things weren't going to plan, and then Sony came out and did the opposite and were cheered for it.
Now they knew for sure what they had to do. This is going to be a much closer race now, and games and services will be better for it.
I was always impressed with the games but not the fact that if servers went down gaming would be over...or that they could turn the servers off and the console would be over.
This changes a lot for me. I was Sony all the way before. Now I want both...need...money...now.
And that online fees apply to Sony as well this gen.
I agree with the author that MS timed it well to go with the big stuff up by Sony on its PS3 firmware update.
Still torn over which to get though.
