Think about it. As far as cultural impact and widespread love of an IP, you'd have to look real hard to find one as big as Star Wars. Now make a GREAT MMO for it (not galaxies) and you've got a guaranteed hit (and cash cow, which is most of the reason behind EA's acquisition).

Who the hell are you to determine how much things are worth anyway? Blu-ray and HD-DVD discs are way more expensive than DVDs, thus the cost of the movie is higher. It would make no sense to release them at the same price as a format that has become so common you'd find the discs in corners of your room.
