While you are at it, maybe Microsoft and apple and Samsung should combine to make one smartphone. Or apple and Microsoft and linux create one OS. Or nvidia and AMD combine for a single chip. The only thing they would consider buying is Sony pictures where the spidey liscence is. They wouldn't buy the tech side of Sony as that would be a risk for them as a company. It's cheaper to liscence the properties, and let the game side take a hit if it fails.

Nah. While Sony has stuff Disney wants, Sony manufactures tech, and that is something Disney knows zero about. It's a totally different buisness. Disney is only about entertainment.
Usually, when you spend time with a game you will start to notice the nuances and enjoy the game as a whole alot more. It becomes a whole experience. Reviewers are interested in getting the game done as quickly as possible, hence the reason gamers like the game more than reviewers.
It happens to alot of innovative consoles. They are usually scoffed at, then looked back on fondly. It happened with the dreamcast, and this is another one of those systems.
It's too bad. People at the time wanted 3d, even as horrible as it was on the ps1 and n64 and Saturn, but the Saturn was the BEST 2D machine on the market at the time. The Japanese releases were far superior to the American releases, as there were alot more 2d fans over there. I ended up importing alot of Saturn games at the time.
I'll still buy the genesis collection on ps4, as well as the genesis mini. It will compliment my original nomad and genesis collection nicely. Seriously though, they do re release these quite often, but being only on the switch may also hurt it a bit.
As a very old school gamer, I can actually appreciate the games that we have nowadays vs. The late 70s, early 80s. I will go as far to say that graphics are just as important as gameplay for the feeling of immersion. Each generation has always upgraded graphics as well as gameplay. Only recently, with indies and rising costs of making games, have we seen a de-evolution of graphics. The argument of "gameplay over graphics" is usually from gamers that have to prove they are "true...
All this means is that they listened people complaining that the ps4 wasn't 4k out the gate. Whether the games are 8k or not is inconsequential. Resolution gate will not be an issue next gen.
