I don't know, when the 360 came out I don't think MS knew the PS3 would include blu-ray to be honest. If I remember correctly, I think Sony decided towards the end there to include it, and that's when they ran into trouble finding enough blu-lazers.
I also think MS never planned on a 10 year cycle so they could release a new console with whatever format won 4 years down the road as usual.
I like the demo. I even think it's better arcade action than NBA Homecourt.

yeah. PSN indeed has free movies (and not just game trailers), full games and demos, themes, wallpapers, and the free stuff is available for everyone the same day. and nobody has to pay to play multiplayer.

Sure. The story factor is important to keep an interest. But will any of the game be revolutionary? There are plenty of good titles coming this year. But I think just to award a game based on story is selling the industry short. Look at what Resistance 2 is offering with 2 separate story line campaigns, a whopping 8 player co-op, 60 player multiplayer. These things have never been done on consoles before. This is more impressive if you are a gamer
