You can use meta to gauge how much a reviewer enjoyed a game and it's pretty predictable since people will always prefer a more arcade experience.
But when it come down to who is the king of races meta doesn't help.
GTs has the most detailed racetrack and vehicles ever, a whole generation ahead of any competition. It also has better physics, better online community, FIA championships, lighting, sound, controls, photo mode and hell even the menus.
What would be hand holding to you would be a challenging experience to someone just getting into gaming or with a disability.
If anything MS bean counters will be over Bethesda keeping track of all the pennies. An MS will want some MP aspect and expect a lot of paid DLC.
