What's the deal? You can now play all the original game free and if you want the new expansion it costs money.
It's pretty simple.
I'm not sure why you're surprised, the game never stopped being popular.
I would have a lot more sympathy for him if he gave me the impression he wasn't totally selfish.
If he was like I went to Africa and used my money to stop the spread of AIDS or I went to Asia to help the fight against human trafficking or something charitable. And it didn't make me happy that would be something.
But no he's crying because he has everything a person could ever possibly want and it doesn't make him happy.
That a...
Disagree with this as much as you want.
But I feel like he should feel bad.
He pretty much created the inde movement he was already making enough money to live like a king, doing something that made millions of people happy but he sold it to the most corporate people on the planet from the most capitalist nation on the planet.
It was a huge disappointment, he could have had everything he wanted and stayed true to himself and the people w...
@ABizzel1
"even now with those "weaker than console steam stats" every game still has graphical options that offer games in higher fidelity than console."
The survey is irrelevant because they are already making games for people with high end rigs. Ultra settings are basically geared for people with computers far more powerful than what that survey says is the "average" computer.
The game developers if anything ...
You got me I didn't even know that was the case.
But I'm pretty sure the majority of the following and when you say X-COM most people think of PC.
If you took out marketing I would be skeptical. But Microsoft spends so much on marketing. I see there commercials and there advertising more than just about any company.
Microsoft has always been like this. I can remember seeing Zune commercials every break on TV as well as Vista and Windows 8 and Windows Phone each in their time.
Microsoft has had a long tradition of "if it's not selling advertise the crap out of it". Something which I have ...
But the thing is there were so many BIG games that were released on PC that weren't even on console. Civilization Beyond Earth, Sims, Simcity, Cities Skylines, Total War games, Hearthstone, Pillars of Eternity, Divinity I could go on, those were just a few off the top of my head. All of them worked perfectly. Only a small percent of PC games are bad PC ports.
And I would argue that in a lot of cases what is called a bad PC port isn't really bad.
Lik...
@ABizzel1
It hasn't stopped any major games excluding those that were made or funded by Sony or Microsoft for their consoles to get ported over.
I have bought every third party release on PC so much so that my PS4 collection is only 7 games. (all exclusives) (not counting PS+)
The third parties have no plans to stop releasing on PC any time in the future and even now with those "weaker than console steam stats" every game still ...
That's fine there is so much content that can be put into a game like this, the longer it takes the better it will be.
That is such a misinformed statement.
Firaxis makes some of the best selling PC games of all time. Civilization V was released in 2010 and it still is in the top ten most played games on Steam daily.
And while I don't have any numbers I would bet that X-COM probably sold more copies on PC than it did on console, And I am almost certain it was played more hours total on PC especially with great overhaul mods like Long War which adds an incredible amount ...
That study was irrelevant.
Games with both higher and lower requirements than the consoles come out all the time. Witcher as one recent example you can play with settings that are less than console or greater.
Games for PC come with all sorts of different PC requirements and due to the fact that PC is so scalable with settings that can actually be altered in game even older PC's can play new games. And as time goes on those charts will slide towards str...
Thats cool. I didn't know this was coming to consoles. But it's nice to see WiiU is getting a version too.
I'm interested in seeing more.
Love the old school revival that is slowly taking off. This style of game may be niche but there are still a lot of people who have fond memories of games with that classic style like Baldur's Gate.
No way, I can't wait to ad mods that make it 800!
It's actually pretty good.
Especially if you like stealth games. Also a lot of the things that didn't work so well have been fixed in patches. The story which is personal if you'll like it is pretty long and there are tons of side missions and minigames.
You can probably get it pretty cheap used.
I agree, I always enjoyed her counter playstyle, and being Sakura's rival gave her an interesting story.
@DragonKnight
It's not strictly 30 mins anymore. I've seen it as short as a few mins, it was originally 30 mins but even at that time they said they were working to reduce the amount of cut time.
I don't think it's going to take off, they already had a streaming service and it had so few users they shut it down.
The only people really streaming there are already Youtube famous people who they gave truckloads of money to stream in the launch window.
The worst thing is it's content ID which will shut down your stream in the middle of live broadcast. Imagine having yo play the game you just bought with the music turned off just to not get co...
I actually find it kind of creepy that they are tracking that much data like that. It's one thing to track general population stats, but that's really personal.
