The 360's exclusive lineup for next year looks pretty bad right now.
Sorry, not everyone plays Halo. It looks like a bunch of random shapes on a bad webcam.
Also, 15 second Ad for a short bad quality video.... pretty crappy
This game seems like it's going for a totally different demographic than WoW. Everything is much slower paced and more linear.
Pretty sure this is just going to be the next iteration of FFXI. The people that loved that game or at least that type of game will move to this.
These aren't from the collection, they are just emulated in HD on a PC. So it really is just upped resolution. It is beautiful though, can't wait to see the collection.
Definitely worth your time. They are one of the few developers still doing new inventive things.
It was the first game from Team Ico, came out pretty soon after the PS2 launched. It was a very artistic escort puzzle game. You escort this ghostly lady out of a castle while trying to figure out how to get out. Sometimes you battle smokey type monsters with a wooden sword.
It's not a game for everyone, but it is amazing.
It's *possible* those pictures are from an emulator, but most likely they are working on this and those are shots from the game. The original game did not support widescreen, so getting those widescreen shots with an emulator would be difficult. They would be crazy not to re-release those two games with or before the Last Guardian. It would be the best marketing campaign conceivable, and it would make them money.
I still would wait till release to pass judgement on the fatigue system. They are definitely going for something different than other MMOs with this. I wish other MMO developers would try something new.
If the story is as lacking as FFXI though, I won't be subscribing for long.
Ugh, they had recently published that closed beta keys would be valid for the open beta, but that is not the case. Closed beta people have to go through the same application process as everyone else.
I spent all night clicking refresh again, I am such a whore for betas.
TRADE games all you want, Use goozex or a similar service, or trade with friends.
BUYING from Gamestop is the problem, you trade 3 games in for enough money to buy 1 game and they sell those 3 games for 200% the money.
The greedy publishers are the ones that give the money to the developers. If the publishers don't get the memo that you like the game enough to pay for it, you won't get any more of that type of game.
The point is, the developer doesn't get credit for another sale, so the publisher wont give them as much money to make their next game.
If you support the developer or the type of game they have made, purchase it new to make sure more games like that get made. You are voting with your dollars and right now you are either not voting at all (piracy) or voting for Gamestop.
Buy new, trade if you have to, but don't buy used (especially from Gamestop)
This is a pretty bad analogy, not even considering the fact that your taxes pay for the library and you rent the book and bring it back so someone else can rent it.
Used game TRADING isn't an issue at all, it's when someone makes a business model out of charging say $40 for a used game they paid some other gamer $7.
If you really want to get used games, use a service like goozex where you are trading for similar priced games and you get far more money for you...
Great Article. I actually felt just like him and now I am finally embracing my dorkiness and showing everyone I can how I feel about the industry I love.
It's too bad that if the industry was ever as accepted as I seem to want it to be, I'm not sure I would want to be involved in it as much. All this casual motion control crap is pretty much a testament to how we will soon lose the majority of the Creative, Emotional games that we have grown to love.
I love this game. It was the perfect combination of everything for me, and I was pretty skeptical when I first got it. It's a Survival Horror Action RPG with soul. Very badass.
This does not help the argument that games are art. It helps make the argument that games can inspire people to create art in conventional ways. If you want to prove to people that games are art, we have to show them IN THE GAME why it is artistic. That is what my site is all about, come check it out.
All they have said so far is 2011. I wish it was this fall though.
I'm not sure if you clicked on the images, they are as HD as most games are this generation (1000x563). They are straight from suckerpunch, in a directory they didn't want me to get to. If they have been seen before, it's news to me. And I have been looking.
One of his main points about 3d gaming going nowhere is Minecraft, a game that has built in 3d support....
