People buy HD-DVD or Bluray are expecting good quality pictures, HQ sound mastering and features... I'm not sure that these indipendent studios are meets the quality standard of High-end Home Theater~

I have 3DS max, mental-ray is not design for real-time rendering, even when you are using nvidia quadro series...

none of the games using mental ray now. they use 3D max for modeling, texturing and animating... put some physics... etc... but then... it's the engine that use to render the game... like cryengine, unreal engine... most of the company using their own engine~
the best engine I know so far is unreal engine n cryengine... MGS...

It's a pain to render ray trace reflect/refract... why the graphic is not impressive? it's because there is not many environment there guys... it's reflected the environment, where games now is mostly... using tricky engine maybe... I'm not sure...
but it's good enough, but when this technology especially mentral-ray anything with ray... is absolutely stunning... then what you see now is just... is not good as when you see at the first time...

nobody tell me to have dvd-r dl dude, I have that~ and one thing... I have 360 there~ we use to have dvd 5, and now dvd 9, still move on okey? bluray have more space... I don't say I need it... but when games like blue dragon, will be better if have HD-dvd or more space than multy dvd9...

same here in Indonesia, they first sell ps3 for almost US$1500 (with 3 original games), now it's almost US$900... even wii is US$500 (with 10 pirated games)... 360? $400~ with extra 10 pirated games... I'm sure M$ intent to let the pirate games free here,... it sell their console more for sure... (I bought one. not even when the pirate soft release yet)

My opinion... M$ misses the mark again. I -used- to be a big fan. But they've lost me, and need to do much better than elite to get me back.
