this is more like bluray player can run PS3 game, and where PS3 is a console can run bluray movie...
remember 3DO from panasonic and sanyo? panasonic Q, a dvd player can play gamecube. psx is dvd player which can play PS2
but Panasonic Q is the most interesting one, coz gamecube can't play DVD.

when you have both 360 and PS3, you would have known which is true elite~ 360 HDMI is not even match with PS3 HDMI, 360 using older version of HDMI while PS3 using 1.3 (a newer version)
I don't want to get an elite yet, before MS confirmed that they will not release another stupid version of 360. But I will get another one if MS release a whole complete set of 360 with build-in wifi and HD-DVD.
