Not sure, dont quote me on this but somebody said, a 4 bar on the ps3 is equivalent to a 3 bar on the xbox. Idk maybe they mean in comparison to xbox live. Xbox live is insanely fast, my xbox downloads stuff much faster than I can on my pc.
Its not that easy, being used to live psn pisses me off when its unreliable (random lag on black ops, sometimes takes ages to find a match in acr). Im so used to some of the features of live that i would'nt be able to play ps3. Maybe when the next gen comes out psn will be upgraded with group chat and will be in the position to combat live. Well, the thing is that now ms points arent only used by live, they are used by windows phone and would have been used for the coming windows store. With Windows 8 coming out soon and more people connecting to the Windows Store, if they wanted to buy something first they would need to buy ms points. This in no way means that ever single game on steams gonna be on linux. I have no idea of what linux supports but it might only have the games that mac also has, so it might only have valve games available.
I agree with the streaming games not viable for online gaming, I think that they can go online only after 50 mbps becomes the average connection. Right now (atleast for me) it takes way too long to download stuff. But the problem is that even though download speeds will increase, so will game sizes, so even if the average connection is 50 mbps, it would still take the same time to download games. So I guess until it takes 1 hour or less to download games, we're still gonna be buying discs...

It hasent been hacked, its just a exploit with their website log in and if you have a weak password or have shared your email id then you have a higher of getting hacked. This has nothing to do with psn and the amount of users experiencing this is small. This is over hyped, although it is serious, all they need to do is change some code for the xbox website, which im not sure why they havent done this already.

We do need new consoles, on the xbox 360 games are over 1 disc and I want a next gen so that my next console has blu-ray and is 1 disc. I would be fine with a next gen console and not having a next gen after that if it ran games in native 1080. But PC will always continue to advance, and anything thats over 2 years old gets considered old, so they'll always be the need for a next gen because of pc. Maybe if pc tech stops advancing maybe then we wont have a next gen.
