And BF3's beta was confirmed as code from over a month ago prior to the public release. it didn't fix any graphical issues or glitches. It was strictly to test the network, which in comparison, would take a lot less time than the aforementioned issues that are usually in betas.
It's why it only lasted a week or two.
That doesn't even make sense. Every beta is in fact, a testing phase of the game to iron out anything that the developers want ironed out.
In BF3's case, they wanted to stress test the network load and see how well they could keep the latency down on their servers.
DICE already confirmed that the bugs that were in the beta have already been removed in the final product. The beta was of old code, it was not a "new beta".
They had a more recent version of the game that was polished even before that beta was released. I have friends who have played the full version of the game at conventions such as PAX (on consoles) that know for sure the game is much different from the beta.
Of course it is. This is why public betas shouldn't be released, especially to console gamers. They're not meant for us. They're present to correct any issues with the game. In this sense, it was to test load the network.
High resolution textures weren't included. Only one map/mode was available for play, and a small portion of guns were available... And still somehow, people based the final product on all of this, even after they stated not to.
How can something that is a month to two months old be considered a demo, when its not even the latest code? Not to mention that the bugs present in the beta were confirmed to not be in the final release? NOT TO MENTION that the beta was strictly released to test load the network? Not. To. Mention. That its already confirmed that a texture pack will be released with the game, confirming that the beta was NOT a final representation?

Im pretty sure the minimum requirements for BF3 on PC is more demanding than consoles, so no. I believe even the lowest settings on the PC version will outdo the console versions.

It's horribly sad how DICE has to constantly reiterate that this is in fact, an old code beta used to test load the network for all the idiots out there. It does not include any high resolution textures, vehicles, etc.. It has minimal destruction and a small amount of armaments to choose from. It is a single map, and a single gameplay mode.
