It was Socialism that bankrupted the American housing market in the first place. R&D's alike both pressured banks to give low-income wage earners mortgages they could not afford. Housing boom followed by a cut in interest rates with first time buyers getting Adjustable Rate Mortgages that blew up in their faces. Then banks became top-heavy in investments and the whole credit market crumbled.
