MS has done well with Windows 7 and Bing recently. Window's 7 alone eliminated whatever losses MS took from Zunes and Kin, while taking them back to number 1 status as a tech company over Apple. Their new MS7 OS for phones will probably do fine, but I doubt it'll sustain any momentum over the Android OS.
I'm really interested to see what happens or how MS will respond, when Google releases their computer OS in the future and if it'll take significant marke...
I'm willing to bet that people would line up freely to snipe Kotick CoD style in real life =P!
I can't wait to play Castlevania: LoS, I've been really looking forward to it and it seems to be the best Castlevania since SotN.
I'm not sure if the Move will truly eat into the Wii market, but when motion control games are simultaneously release on the Wii/PS3 we'll see how much of an effect the Move will have on Wii sales.
@N4PS3Fanboys
What will you be saying when ME3 releases day 1 on the 360 and PS3 home consoles, for their simultaneous enjoyment (Bioshock 2 for example)?
@Tron_Rocks
I think the more significant factor is that PS3 games will be able to play ME2 and probably ME3 as a day 1 purchase. Kind of reminds me of Bioshock 1 and 2 all over again. Great for gamers in general, which is a good thing IMO =).
I'm more interested in seeing the future numbers for the PSP2 and 3DS. If the PSP2 is in the same price range as the 3DS, the future handheld battle will be quite interesting to watch indeed.
On topic, I think the current sales trend isn't a surprise since the Wii hasn't had a real noteable game since Super Mario Wii or Wii Resort to shift Wii's in a while, whereas the PS3 has some hardware shifters that appeal to the Japanese gamers; like WKC2 and future...
It's just great to see that ME2 will be a option for PS3 only gamers, and no doubt ME3 will follow. Having Valve and now Bioware as multiplatform developers, just means more gamers will have the option to play some great games on either platform.
It's not like it's a loss for 360 gamers since they have had both ME and ME2 to play for a while now, this just means gamers in general win b/c more of them can now play a great ME2 game on more than one home console. ...
Seeing as Sony and Google are collaborating on Google TV for Sony Bravia TV's, I'm expecting android 3.0 OS on either the future line of Sony Ericsson phones or the PSP2. No doubt the PSP2 will have 2 analog stick since gamers have complained about it since the PSP launch, plus the 3DS seems to have 2 analog like sticks.
Unless internet speeds becomes as fast as Japan or Korea, DD isn't going to cut it for HD movies or large games. The irony of it all, is that the end of this article notes the problems Capcom and Mercury have producing 360 games on multiple DVD discs.
Maybe they should look at some of their upcoming games on multiple disc that are on 1 blu-ray for the PS3 versions, like Castlevania LoS and Rage, before making a comment like this.
Online fees for the new Bungie game, anyone interested? I hope not, otherwise Kotick would be right in some regard. I hope the guys who left Infinity Ward put out a game to challenge COD's dominance, I really can't stand this Kotick guy running his mouth off.
I don't really care for the GOW/Castlevania comparison, since GOW3 was epic and I have no doubts that LoS will be nearly as good or on equal footing. I think LoS will be close to GOW when it comes to gameplay, but maybe not as smooth since Gabriel can't break a combo by rolling to dodge. I'm not looking forward to a straight up GOW clone though, I'd rather just have a game with a more classic Castlevania feel and story.
It's great that the length of th...
From what I see, MS is paying for timed exclusives and advertising, while Sony pushes out 1st party exclusives. Who is really winning in the long run? Gamers who own both HD consoles, obviously don't have issues though.
@outrageous
Let's be honest, LBP wouldn't be possible on the 360 b/c it's a closed proprietary system that doesn't allow free user content like LBP. I don't even think Nintendo would have bothered to invest in Media Molecule games on their systems either.
By that reasoning, how exactly is Media Molecules acquistion by Sony a bad thing? I doubt iOS could even do any Media Molecule games, like LBP justice simply due to lack of physic...
Wait until the comparison comes out for multi-platform games like Castlevania: Lord of Shadows and Rage get compared. Is anyone going to point out that the 360 version will be on multiple disc just to remain on par with the PS3 version? People may not care for lesser games like Kane and Lynch 2, but titles like LoS, Vanquish and Rage will be more duly noted due to the series or companies involved.
Most multi-platform games from this point on will have minor differences, s...
Splinter Cell and the Prince of Persia trilogy will be a reality, that is pretty much a certainty. People may not believe it, but those 2 titles will be mentioned the same way ME2 was and be released next year.
@Nocturnus30
Take into consideration that Gabe Newell went on stage at the last E3 con and stated the PS3 (his most hated system at the beginning of this gen) version of portal 2 would be the definitive version on home console due to Steam and free updates.
That says a lot when you consider in retrospect, especially when Gabe Newell is clearly saying that Sony was right to have a more open gaming system. Gloat all you want about LIVE, but I assure you th...
I think it already says a lot that Gabe Newell, one of the hughest detractors of the PS3 at launch, says the PS3 version of Portal 2 will be the definitive version on home console due to steam. 360 fanboys up until now, were all gloating about Valve games like L4D and L4D2 etc., yet now there isn't much they can say.
I'm willing to bet Splinter Cell Conviction is the next game after ME2 to be announced for the PS3 next year. Certainly it will be mentioned that M...
The problem with this article is how it ends, "Microsoft made it clear that it wouldn't forget about hard-core gamers with Kinect, and in fact, expected them to be the first to go out and buy it.". If that's the case, why has MS not mentioned any hardcore games for Kinect, yet the Sony Move has at least half a dozen core games? I'll believe MS when they actually release something more then casual for Kinect, until then their talk is merely that, plain heresy or pure BS...
As someone who absolutely loved Deadspace 1, I'm really looking forward to DS2. The demo looked great, most of the improvements I see, I like.
The things I liked:
1. The hand smash looks likes it's more useful and effective compared to DS1.
2. The 2 new airpacks on the suit lets you move manually, wheresas in DS1 you could only jump in zero gravity.
3. Graphics look significantly improved despite DS1 looking fantastic. It'...
