PlayStation doesn't have to make another standalone portable console and invest in exclusive.
Instead they can just make a companion portable for the PS5, just like PSVR is a companion for PS4.

Actually in the transition between Gameplay and cutscenes, there was supposed to be a scene with choices that you pick (Pick A or Pick B for this outcome) but Sony Bend decided to take it off completely which is why DG have an awkward transition.
