This is the way of MS... more specifically, the Xbox Division. They know how and when to strike and the beginning of the year was well handled by early launches of Halo Wars and Star Ocean.
They Clearly have an excellent lineup for what is probably the decisive year in this console war and Forza 3 will play an important role on it. Things are slowly building up but so far we can speculate the following:
Alan Wake (Hinted several times for this year)
Splinter Ce...
Definitely Forza Motorsport 3! For 2009? Wow!
Excellent... This E3 is going to be killer.

Are you suggesting this looks anywhere better than Lost Planet 2?
http://www.gametrailers.com...
I hope you're not.
Visually this game still looks very early... though LP2 comes after and already looks more polished.
I wasn't expecting KZ2 level visuals in a Multiplayer only game though.
We'll see how it turns out.
They're probably focusing more on gameplay and online than in visuals. GRaphically, it doesn't look any special.. (see lack of detail in vehicles, sky, flat texturing, etc.)
However, it doesn't kill the game by any means. It could well become an excellent online game without the absolute best graphics around. (See Halo 3)

Gears on PS3 is as likely as Resistance on Xbox 360. So forget about it.
MGS4 on the other hand, has been a multiplatform title in the past, that's why it has all chances to meet the same fate now.
It was voted by the community. Obviously, the PS fanboys voted for both Marcus and Masterchief.
Hard to find a nearly as iconic character in Sony`s camp though.

Next Please.
That can't be In-Game
Why is the guy including Valkyre Profile and ignore the Mistwalker/NAMCO titles exclusive to the Xbox 360?
Why is he including Uncharted and ignoring titles from developer RARE, or Lost Planet which falls in a similar category?
Sure the PS3 has a solid first party line-up, but so does the Xbox 360. Also, this year is looking better in terms of variety. Alan Wake is a survival horror game, Splinter Cell is an stealth game and HALO ODST looks like it will be a tactita...
Sony certainly has a more than decent share of the hardcore population, which raises the question though, as why this population isn't buying their most hyped games (i.e. LBP, Killzone 2, Motorstorm 2, Resistance 2) whereas they do buy 3rd party ones (SF4, RE5)
If Sony wants to go in a hunt for the casuals they better consider what else they need to do to keep pushing the hardcore market, currently dominated by Microsoft and also, perform a $100 price cut to be in reach for the c...

KZ2 sold 621K in the US, with a severe decline in sales in the later weeks.
FPS are much more popular in the US than in Europe so it makes all sense what this article says. I don't think Sony is getting their own numbers wrong just to have fun starting another PR disaster.
Whatever Sony said at the start of the generation, they are still revealing shipped PS3, PSP and PS2 games shipped to retailers not to end users. Actually, the only ones that have that information are retailers not manufacturers, that's why they themselves use NPD numbers for their sales numbers conferences like E3.
Secondly, please don't talk about integrity when there's an article like this:
Halo Wars also did pretty good for being an RTS.
Killzone 2 on the other hand showed a terrible performance considering the p...
What the heck are you talking about?
Both Sony and Microsoft talk about shipped numbers.
HOWEVER, when Microsoft talks about Pre-orders, there's no turn around. It's definitely end users safe sells and it gets reflected in NPD, GFK... etc.
When they talked about the 1 million pre-orders for KZ2, I don't know what they were talking about.
Whether there was a massive pre-order cancellation or somebody lied about the 1 million pre-orders in Europe alone.
Can't believe the guy has the guts to keep talking about DNF development stages.
E74 is not nearly as widespread as RROD was. It tends to appear in the first days and affects a very small percentage of the console population.

Sony guys were mad about GTA IV DLC being Exclusive.
Mass Effect 2 and Lost Planet 2 are scheduled for sometime around 2010Q1.
The biggest Q1 for Microsoft in terms of exclusives. They're probably preparing terrain to counter GT5 and/or God of War 3.
