from my experience with home, it looks like home is being built to incorporate third parties and making gaming more social. third parties will have the opportunity to create their own spaces for games, and to advertise their upcoming titles. its not incorporated into home yet, but trust me, no one spends millions in development to create something that takes away from their bottom line.

the real reason people hate multiplatform games is due to the fact that in my 20+ years of multiplatform gaming, not one single game comes to mind that is equivalent across platforms. one usually has worse graphics, or has glitches, or the control scheme was obviously meant for the other platform, etc.

in a way its good to be humble about your releases, since it keeps ps3 owners coming back to the store every week. on the other hand, it would be good to at least get a heads up before the week of so you know what to expect.
IMHO i think sony doesnt announce psn releases because they arent 100% sure if and when they will be able to get them up on the store. no one wants the kind of flack that comes about when a game is delayed.

yes, it does have built in support for live, but usage of live on the pc may interfere with modding.

hell, metal gear had some semblance of a cover system since MGS2. since teh game was more geared towards stealth, it was obviously different, but taking cover is nothing new to video games.
using that logic, that means that epic turns their back on MS every time they release a version of UT that runs on linux?
for those types of games, there is a definite advantage. but if you have a medium powered pc and dont feel like upgrading, the console experience is a definite option; now moreso than ever.
