PS2 was the start with the dvd player added, PS3, introduced media content and was capable of doing so and they used it as a trojan horse for the HD format wars. PS4 is now geared to be a media hub similar to what apple did with the iMac back in the days.
By doing this they attract non gamers to their product. I wonder if they care who they sell too?
Nintendo was always pushing power and tech but after Iwata took over they went in a different direction.

I played the demo on the wii u and it's fantastic.
It makes business sense to put it multi platform due to the install base but people need to remember that Nintendo unlike the other 2, do not pay for exclusives which is why they are able to change their mind so quick.
But Panasonic have better built products and a brand people trust. Sony has a Samsung, sharp or lg screen and charge silly prices. Nice designs though.

Personally, they dare to be different and their games are better built then the other 2 which is why I always will have their system. I will compliment it with one of the others as there is never much differences bar exclusives.

There is nothing wrong with this machine bar the name, the constant focus on the controller and it's bad communication to the masses.
The name did not resonate with mainstream as the Wii did initially. This also lead to people thinking it was just some minor upgrade and not a completely new machine.
Poor marketing and communication has dwarfed this great potential of a console and hopefully a re-think will correct the issue.
