You only need one character of each "element" (there are 8 elements in total) to unlock all areas and content in the game. The starter pack comes with three characters. So that's only 5 additional characters needed, which is still expensive but not even close to $300.
2 million gamers have good taste!
Two words:
Cash grab.
If it improves on the shortcomings of GTA4 then I see no reason why this game wouldn't sell impressive numbers.
The game turned out to be decent, but I (and everyone else) would rather have a proper Spyro game over this.
What I don't get it is:
Activision are known to recycle successful formulas (CoD and Guitar Hero), so it puzzles me as to why they don't COPY the gameplay and ideas of the original Crash and Spyro games for future installments instead of damaging the IP?
The game should have been open world and the devs should have looked at games like Infamous for inspiration.
Wrong.
Whoops, I meant great* games.
...Must have been a typo ;)
Batman gets decent games.
@The_Nameless_One
I'm going to make 2 predictions:
1. Bioware will continue to talk up the multiplayer component of Mass Effect 3 as if it were the best thing since sliced bread.
2. Regardless of what Bioware says (remember how awesome they said Dragon Age 2 was going to be?), the multiplayer component will feel tacked on and completely unnecessary, just like Dead Space 2's multiplayer.
EDIT 1: @The_Nameless_One
Wow.
That small amount of information is all it takes for you guys to completely change your opinion of ME3 multiplayer?
This series is quickly getting stale. :/
Why would he be in it? It's not based on the movies.
"Will There Be Mods?"
What a stupid question...
For a game like this to work it would need to be open world and take inspiration from LA Noire's questioning/interrogation system as well as having a heavy focus on stealth gameplay.
People weren't happy when those games did it either.
"It's something we'll all have to get used to."
Ugh. No we don't. Ever.
How would you feel if you had just purchased a new DVD, only to find that several scenes in the movie had been removed and sold individually at extra charge?
Just why video game developers are allowed to get away with this, I will never know...
"It’s the most interesting entry in the Spyro universe since creators Insomniac parted ways with their cute purple dragon."
I wouldn't go that far. I still think 'A Hero's Tail' is by far the best post-Insomniac Spyro game because it (mostly) followed the classic formula.
Skylanders is a decent enough game, but it's not going to be a game that people will still talk about 10+ years from now, unlike the original games which are st...
The Shadow Broker.
It's a good game for sure, but I wouldn't call it GOTY material.
