This is a cash grab to kill mods on the old game and force you under the new terms where they own all your maps and mods so another dota 2 doesnt happen.
It bombed because it was a console first game. If it was a true pc game with private servers and server browser it would have been a huge success. These greedy publishers that want to control and charge us for everything is why it died. There are games on steam now with only 1 thousand players but guess what they have server browser and they have 15 full 32 player servers for you to just click and join so easy screw halo style match making no one wants to spend 30 min in que thats not pc gami...
The game was fine and it was fun it just they put in a stupid matchmaking system and didnt give pc players a server browser like a pc game should have. There are much smaller games with still a great online community that still play games from 25+ years ago. Depending on matchmaking will kill any pc game long term growth also being able to host private servers as well. @andydalum Sony is making the same mistake letting you only stream games on their service not install them which hurts gameplay and not worth it to people with data caps and spotty internet.
Yeah just like the lies sony told about the cell processor and their first party developers said its more powerful than cpus today i had to laugh at that one. Games love clock speeds and the ps3 didnt come close to what desktop cpus could put out back then it was slow and had to reserve cores for the OS. And there were no ps3 games with great physics, Ai, or large player counts in multiplayer only Mag stood out and it was buggy and was just a bad planetside. .
If i cant install the games its just google stadia a huge waste of time. Streaming games is awful unless you got fiber and no data cap. I blow up my 1TB cap each month just watching youtube tv and netflix lets not even add one or two game downloads on top of that of 150 or 200GB
Yeah you have to catch it fast my alt account got hacked and the Chinese was running a farm bot on it they was able to lock it out and give me back my account i was banned though for awhile.
