I think, though I could be wrong, that they want all of their studios to use it because they put money into developing it and don't want to spend money on the development of another in house engine. They also don't want to use other engines made by others as that might also cost money in royalties or who knows how that works exactly.

I played Demon's Souls, Dark Souls 1-3 and Bloodborne. Beat all of them multiple times and got platinum from two of them and very close to platinum on the rest.
Having said this, in MY opinion, Sekiro is the hardest out of them all. Why? Because in all previous souls games if I could not beat a boss, I just went farming and leveled up and done. Not much skill needed. In Sekiro however..... what do kids say? Git gud.

I grew up in that era as well and I never felt that a game is being unfair or cheated for the sake of being difficult. Sekiro does for the sake of being difficult.

The game should stop being a cheater as well. Bending arrows, bosses flying at you, you dodge and they change direction in the air. A miniboss that can't be stealth attacked even though you get behind it silently.....etc.

The game is hard but very good and enjoyable though fustrating sometimes.
I do know of a lot of people who did not buy this game because it's known to be very difficult. They would love to play it but don't want to get a heart attack.
I think one way could be if they introduce an easy mode for people to enjoy and experience Sekiro but disable the trophies for example. This way, both hardcores and casuals could enjoy this masterpiece. Just my opin...
