I think you could try the game. Out of the possible hundreds of thousands or perhaps even millions this sold, how man on forums 10, 20 maybe 50 people report problems? I'd say the odds are good that you won't have these issues.

Why did PS1 outperform the N64 when the N64 was a better hardware? Why did the PS2 outperform the Xbox when the Xbox had the better hardware? Why did at first the 360 outperform the PS3 when the PS3 had better hardware?

True, RoTR had better puzzles than the first one but those were kind of side quests. Not the main goal. Emphasis is on combat in the new TR games not puzzles. Go and play the original Tomb Raider games and you will see how much supperior they are.
I'm burnt out of Crash Bandicoot after doing all the time trials for gold relics. If it wasn't for that, I would want more CB.

Where is Ghost Recon Wildlands? Other than No Man's Sky that is the biggest open world I have ever seen.
This game is not a 1/5. It's not the best game out there but certainly not that bad either. I would say, 2.5/5-3/5 range.
