I seriously think this should happen. Break up this terrible company, and the Star Wars license will be released to other studios. This is the best thing that can happen with EA.

You bring up a excellent point. None of these dev show their games because it simply isn't done yet. We didn't see actual gameplay of RDR2 until 2 months before release. It has nothing to do with confidence, everything to do with managing hype and expectations of the final product.
Forget graphics. Games need more mechanics, features, AI, bigger fluid realistic worlds. Graphics is something that was always icing on the cake, but the cake needs to have flavor above all.

The core of the problem here are consumers. They have a very short memory span. People at work: "OMG I hate EA. They ripped me off so many times,.... but Anthem looks soooo good, Day One buy!!!"
I'm starting to believe consumers and some gamers aren't very self aware.
