Can anyone confirm wether the College Hoops demo works on a PAL system? If it doesn`t we could be witnessing a change! If it does then maybe there can be a simple explaination and fix from Sony/NG?

Based on the vids............They are exactly the same! Whatever system you have (PC included), you are in for a great time. Hats of to IW on what quite clearly is a fantastic multi plat title across multiple formats. I await friday with sweating palms!

Yeah, the shader setting is the real killer as far as speed goes. Im on XP using the tweak to get very high @12x10....and is fairly smooth, but im now just waiting to see AMD`s new cards before icking one to buy in Crossfire or Sli. On a side note there is another 8800gt variation coming out in december with 128 shader units as opposed to 112, higher core frequency and suort for 1gig! So just playing the waiting game. Im going for the new QX9550 quad cpu also, so should be a busy xmas for me....

That issue was fixed sometime ago with one of the firmware updates. It was something to do with a 720p/1080i issue on older HD sets.

This is the processor im waiting for. Money at the ready what ever the cost, but not for games, though im sure Crysis will be "tested"! hehe. Ibe been following this for a while now, just waiting for the UK prices and availability.....im guessing around the 700 pounds mark, but could be more i guess.
Its very easy to do Jen. you will lose a number of frames depending on your card of course, but the extra sheen is quite striking. A few examples of course are the fantastic rays of light from the sun and moon, the the extra texture detail, especially seen in the pebbles around the beach area!!! A couple of the new GT`s and a nice quad core cpu will do the trick.

A great figure if accurate! This "war" wont be over anytime soon thats for sure. As long as there is exclusive films on both formats there will not be a winner for a very very long time......if at all. You can spin as much as you want about hitting a "sweet spot price" and "mass market acceptance" blah blah.....but this wont be a factor for a very very long time. Dont be suprised if both formats are still around in 5/10 years......But which one will have the lion...
