OT: I think this is essentially 99% confirmed...and if you read my blog you can see I deal purely in facts or rational reasoning.
The reason people care is because its graphically the equivalent to the shit I just took. So if it runs as a lower resolution on xbox one people will have proof in a war to show the differences in spec of the consoles.

You need to learn about something called "theoretical performance" and "real world performance" heck the HD5970 use to be the fastest graphics card in the world based on "theoretical performance" but it wasn't exactly all to practical when it came to "real world performance" and its performance in games was underwhelming for the specs it boasted. There is a blog dissecting the xbox on hardware here on n4g that also explains this.
What I think a lot of people will miss is when he said "Both consoles have a DX 11.1+ capable GPU with full compute shader support" That means the rumors of ps4 not supporting dx11 to the same extent as xbox one are not true seeing as both can handle anything and above 11.1.

While I am not trying to downplay what you just said or anything like that. Don't you think at the very least that should be confirmed by an actual employee? Its a marketing tactic (and a very good one) Not to come off as biased but the tactic is generally used for similar association. Which is not surprising considering Microsofts marketing team has generally been doing tis when advertising their Surface tablet in a similar fashion to the old Apple commercials (Which quite honestly is ingenious because Apple already had brilliant marketing for sub par technology).
