Remember the good 'ol days when we were playing Mario and Tetris? When we were all begging our parents for quarters so that we could spend some quality time in the arcade? Or fighting over our turn with Uncle Joe's Atari in the living room floor? No one cared about brands then. The word "exclusive" meant nothing to us. All that mattered was weather or not we had fun. We would play any game on any platform because we simply... enjoyed it.
But today, with gaming the exp...
Defending a 9.3 score... because it's not high enough? God help us all.
That's a fact in your world, but not in mine. Half the games you listed are overrated, such as: Uncharted 1, Resistance 1 & 2, Infamous, Killzone 2... The others haven't come out yet so I won't even comment on those.
I don't even like Gears or Halo, yet they are of higher quality than any shooter or FPS on the PS3 to date. MGS4 happens to be the best game on your list of examples, and it's also the only one that I've wanted to play more than once.
You thought there were no good games on the 360? You must eat BS for breakfast.
There are more good exclusives on the 360 than there are on the PS3. That's not to say that they are better games, there just happen to be more good ones than bad ones compared to the PS3.
Anything can happen. Nintendo is the only brand that has managed to keep big-name exclusives... exclusive.
In the end, the only thing that prevents Xbox and Playstation games from being multiplatform is money-related. The whole "That system can't handle it" argument is propaganda.
Gears of War is overrated, and it's stilll miles ahead of Resistance and Killzone in terms of gameplay.
The first time I played MGS4, it took me around 20 hours to complete. I actually wanted to enjoy the game. The fifth time I played it, I rushed through, avoiding enemies and skipping cutscenes to get Boss Extreme. It still took me nearly 5 hours (official game time) and at least twice as much total playing time (including retries and such).
Yep. And I'm willing to say that I'll enjoy Conviction about a hundred times more than I will U2.
There were some minor technical issues that kept Mass Effect from being a near-perfect game. Anyone that hasn't played it, must play it. Don't even hesistate. It's like $20 now anyways.
I hate Halo, but there's nothing I hate more than blind ignorance. Most of the people ranting about this haven't even played the game and they never will because they're too busy riding the Sony train to experience something beyond the boundries of the gaming bubble they live in.
With the exception of Heavy Rain, God of War III and Uncharted 2, all of the most hyped and most promising titles will also be on the 360, and then some. Good thing I have both systems, I guess.
...
Two bits of DLC, on day one, that you must pay for... Wow, I thought this kind of crap was limited to Madden, but I guess EA is even greedier than I thought.
I'm glad that there's content, because I'm impulsive enough to pay for it, but this is getting rediculous. But hey, that's Capitalism, folks!
That list could have been a lot better, even limited to 360 games.
You're right, it really just comes down to preference, but that's what makes articles like this so annoying. Websites are out there taking advantage of fanboys just so that they can get hits, which equals $$$ from their advertisers. They'll make up some redicluous black & white article in a hour, throw the word Halo or something into the title and let N4G do the rest. Easy.
What's far worse than that, however, is that idiots on the internet actually get pulled into this sch...
That article is practically fanboy porn. If you're not a tool, would you like to know what an actual gamer with more than ONE platform thinks?
1- The first Uncharted is overrated.
2- The only GotY-worthy exclusive on the PS3 to date is MGS4
3- Seriously, annointing a game that has yet to release is reckless and stupid.
4- Either way, I'm excited. Because when you're a hardcore gamer with several systems, you always win! Keep 'em comi...
Surprised Cliffy B dodged the list... If it looks like a douchebag and sounds like a douchebag, it's Cliffy B.
Playstation fanboys are the worst. And that's not meant as a compliment; such as to say that they are the most loyal or passionate... No, it's because they are the most ridiculously retarded of the bunch. The game isn't even out yet and it's already "Game of the Year with the best story, graphics and gameplay evah evah!!"
Gamereactor is a foreign site and the review was poorly translated, but that doesn't mean that they have no credibility. Maybe they gave the first U...
Shadow of the Colossus is one of the greatest games ever, IMO, and I'd love to play it again. Just imagine an enhanced version with improved visuals and animations...
Can't wait for The Last Guardian!
It is at present still unofficial weather or not the game has been delayed, or for what amount of time. It is safe to assume however that it will be. And though I am disappointed that I won't be playing it soon, the game does (with all honesty) look like it needs a healthy dose of polish.
When a guy sits down to play it on his 360, does he think to himself: "Gee whiz I wish it looked just a fraction better! I just can't enjoy this now! Shoulda got a Playstation!"
When a guy sits down to play it on his PS3, does he think to himself: "Golly molly I was hoping for it to look slightly better! I'm disappointed! Shoulda got an Xbox!"
No.
Know why?
It's a f---ing videogame.
First off, I don't know how old you think I am, but I've been gaming for 20 years and that seems like plenty of experience to me.
You completely missed my point. Of course I am and was aware of fanboyism. The point was that, while videogames themselves have evolved, the industry and its consumers have gone in the opposite direction.
That opposite direction is evident in people like you. What you view as "the truer opinion" is a comfortable illusion, lik...
