So have you ever heard of pc gaming? Because we have had that system pretty much the whole time. I'm going to guess that more people are going to start doing something similar for most console games so that they can make more money.
The EA Download manager is origin now..
Now as much as I can say that I so hate paying for dlc, I can say that I don't remember most games coming with 30 + mo maps. Tht being said I do wish that companies would be ok with the billions that they make off us already on the games that we do pay more for now. It's a kick
Toi the balls for us oc gamers that are now paying console prices for a oc game because we don't have the licensing fees that the consoles have yet they decided to start tacking on that 10$ anyways...
Remember guys, fraps, or however he recorded is incredibly resource intensive.
Please stop using the pc gaming is so expensive bs. It really isn't these days. My $529 CAD laptop plays crysis tf2 cod and pretty much anything else just fine.
Procedural World is truly impressive! I really hope that something good comes out of that because that could be a game changer for the sandbox genre
WOW me too except the other way around.
Here we go

It's kinda disappointing that the PC specs were so low. I mean really a core2 at 3ghz 4gb ram and a gts250? That was my last pc I built over 4 years ago. When are they going to make use of computers? I have a 4ghz i7 with 12gb ram and a gtx480. I personally think that a pc like what was used in this video should be low to medium settings at best....
That's another reason I think pc piracy is high, there is no possible way to sell a multiplayer game...
I'm sorry but I agree completely with this article. All you console gamers condemn us pc gamers calling all of us a bunch of pirates and that's why we don't get good games, yet when you get called a bunch of pirates for selling a second hand game you freak out. Just sayin. If you negative me, please give a reason.
It really depends on which SSD you are talking about as far as speed. For example:
Western Digital Black 1TB has speeds rated to 126MB/s
OCZ Vertex 2 SSD 60GB has a read speed rated at 285MB/s and a write speed rated at 275Mb/s
Also another key factor is access times. For example when you have to load a game, you could be loading thousands of little files that could be several KB. On the Black 1tb there is a rotational latency of 4.2ms (time ...
I gotta admit that the x360 version does look pretty good. The main differences that I can see are that there is more shadows/ more shadow detail in each scene. Pc has a bloomier? game to it. There are more buildings in the background on the PC. Now I'm not sure if it's because the x360 is a capture and the pc is a direct recording, but PC definatly has crisper textures on the environment, ground specifically. Also this one is my opinion, but the PC seems to have better bump mapping (...
I will agree that it's not the most beautiful game (pc gamer) but I am glad that games are finally getting away from that Yellow bloom crap. At least this game has a white light to it when you are looking around. I hate how every game has a twilight lighting to them. I just really hope that the final game is a little more polished on the PC platform because I don't like having a new rig that doesn't get pushed by new games. I mean come on Make my i7 930 at 4ghz with 12gb ram and a...
Thank god people are finally starting to get rid of the locked dash view! I am not saying Live for Speed is the best at Apex views, but after playing LFS and setting it up to essentially look where the front wheels are pointed, I couldn't race in other games the same. That feature alone in Shift 2 could make me look at buying it.
I believe that piracy as a whole (on PC) is declining because the average age of the PC gamer is increasing. No seriously, even as I was starting to grow up in high school, more and more of my friends went over to consoles for whatever reason. I also think that kids these days are tending to go for the x360 and the PS3 while us hardcore PC gamers are stickin to our guns. I know that when I was a little kid and had no money, sure I did pirate a ton of games, but now that I am an adult who earn...
I'd really rather that they don't so that we don't get some buggy game which seems to be the norm to put out nowadays. Back in the day devs didn't churn out games every year and because of that we got much higher quality games. I for one am glad that valve is taking their time and maybe we will see a new engine because of it as well
Reading this again makes me feel old. I want games like mohaa again!
Tf2 is a true team oriented game though. I love that your team really does need to be balanced in order to succeed!
This is why us PC gamers were soo mad with IW. We dealt with this kind of stuff from day one, and I'm sure it's still in MW2 on PC. I hope now you see why all of us PC gamers were so mad when we lost ban powers. MW2 is really fail when you can't kick a hacker.
I've gotta say there is some real flamebait in this article.... I mean come on e-Sports? Are MLG tournaments not the same thing? I will agree with the thousands of dollars on gaming rigs and the fps whore thing. Thing is, we need to push our pc to many times that of a console just to get the same level of graphics due to lazy devs. Don't believe me? My 4.0ghz core i7 with 12g ram and a Nvidia gtx 480 only averages around 80fps on BLOPS at only 1680 x 1050, that's not even 1080p. D...
@Merivigian Yea because my 27" 1080p monitor is soo 12". Also, 27" from 2-3' away looks bigger that 48" from 8-10' away imo... You have have a way larger FOV and still feel natural.
