The NES is a VERY different situation than nowadays.
In 5 years from now when the PS4 is doing crazy particle effects, unlimited draw distances, 16x anti aliasing, real-time lighting, etc, basically what top-end are is doing now - the WiiU will seem incredibly obsolete especially when dealing with hardcore experiences.
It's not even a matter of laziness - it just cant be done. What hardcore gamer is gonna play the newest Call of Duty or Ha...

Im not sure GTA5'll be able to top this in a period of 24 hours lol. Quite a lot of people didn't like GTA4 despite the reviews. Maybe it will i dont know, but the CoD bandwagon is a lot bigger now than when GTA4 came out.
