This is just a classic case of Nintendo being overconfident in their brand and their product. This is what happened to Sony and PS3 when they launched the system at $600 with terrible games and claimed that everyone will line up to buy it because it had the PlayStation name attached to it.
Nintendo can still work their way out of this is mess but it won't be easy. mobile devices will eat a huge portion of their market whether we like it or not. One thing I am sure of...

I can't be the only one that thinks every Gears game looks identical can I?
I played the game for six years and obtained a relic weapon in that time, which took three years. I loved the game. It is a phenomenal MMORPG. Super hard core and unforgiving while always very rewarding. I did very well in it but around January started to get a bit sick of it. Six years is a long time.
Oh so what...it's just some flat textures. Not like this is Killzone 3 or anything...
Crysis 2 looks amazing but I would give it to Killzone 3 as well.
I will say this though, Crysis 2's visuals are a bit more ambitious and therefore fall apart a tad when under scrutiny. Killzone 3's graphics are a bit more "safe" and because of that they end up being clearly better.

Five reasons? Why do we need five reasons? I only need one: games. 360 has no great exclusives this year while PS3 has an embarrassment of riches.

I don't care how many new technologies Gears 3 employs, it still looks very close to how Gears 2 looked. Games like Killzone 3, Crysis 2. Uncharted 2, God of War 3 blow it away!
It looks the same as Gears 2. Just because they are hyping it up trying to convince us that it looks better, doesn't mean it actually does.
The best graphics on the XBOX 360 is Crysis 2 and Gears 3 doesn't look anywhere near as good as that.
Why are we still arguing about this when Killzone 3 looks better anyway.
This won't be exclusive sadly but it should be. I guess we'll have to deal with a wattered down PS3 version once again because the 360 version needs to be kept under 7 gigs. Either that or it'll ship on 14 discs on Microsoft's geriatric box.
I lost all respect for IGN when they gave Crysis 2 graphics on PS3 an 8.5 while the 360 version got a 9.5. Yes the 360 version is mildly better but it is so so mild that it didn't warrant the huge deal that IGN made of this.
They were close enough where both versions should have gotten a 9.5 in the graphics department.
No...Half-Life games do though.
