If this wasn't mentioned already I want to go over the differences. Most people here have a 1080p TV with 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution. The signal that you feed into that TV can consist of many different resolutions but it's mainly either 720p (1280 x 720 resolution) or 1080p (1920 x 1080 resolution).

Keeping all that in mind, think to yourself. If you feed a 720p signal to a 1080p TV, will it really look as good at a 1080p signal being fed into a 1080p TV?
