They'll do fine, I thought Bully was great.
Since it didn't top 1 million, but looking at it now, it actually did very well compared to other games.
I wonder what Mass Effect's numbers are....
LMAO to the Penny Arcade pic in the post:

So this PS3/360 game is being made by 8 guys with no office? They sound pretty dedicated though and wish them luck.
I was just about to say the same thing. I'm not saying that gaming is recession proof since we saw a lot of companies shutting down and downsizing, but it still kicked ass this year.
Man I remember that Alvin & The Chipmunks Christmas special from the Gears of War video. I must've watched it 30 times as a kid.
Community developed games will be the future. They will be able to make young developers tons of cash if word of mouth spreads. The platform is there. If you already have a 360, it just takes a little buzz for millions of curious gamers to download a game at 200 MS points.
Actually sounds like a Wii *game*
Poor management messes up plenty of companies. Haze could have been amazing, but they just didn't follow through on the promise of it. It ended up being pretty mediocre, and it hurt them in the long run.
Netflix *is* nice and all, but the library of movies is a bit underwhelming. You'll really like it if you're into documentaries though, or it could be a good way to find an interest in them. There are tons of good documentaries on it.
Dude, let's be serious... No it's not going to be good. I mean, yeah, technically it could work on the Wii but you know it won't.
The Wii is just beastly. I sold mine though. I just couldn't take the damn gaming droughts and I didn't want to bother lugging it to my new apartment. I sold it to a coworker while they were still hard to find for a nice little bundle and bought MGS4 and DMC4 with the money.
I agree.
With a recession comes less spending money. While people would like to have distractions from what's going on, if they have to choose between RE5 and dinner for their family most people will choose dinner. (Except for me, I can live off games!)
@Anthony
Agreed. I had the same reaction once I got about halfway through GTA4. Bubbles.
Well Tomb Raider did start on the PlayStation so it would make sense that PS fans would be most fond of it.
For those that have played the beta, is Killzone finally a "Halo killer"?
Well the intro says "this year" so I guess it's only 2008.
“I'd rather fail and try than just make another racing game.”
“It sucks to lose EVERY...SINGLE...AWARD you're up for. It hurts!”
I still think...might be untouchable. It's a matter of community. So many people have put so much time, have friends, still run with their crews. I doubt people will be able to switch. WoW is still addictive as hell.
I had a similar thing happen for a while. It was for school though. I was so focused on finishing my degree, and the program was intense so I didn't have much time to play games. I was only out of the loop during finals for a little over a month, but I remember picking up Bioshock and going "Woah. I've been missing out."
