I've never been a big Ghost Recon fan, but I can appreciate the tactical aspects of the games. Sounds like they're keeping in line with that.
Although Uncharted 3 is at the top of my anticipation list just because of how much I loved U2, BioShock Infinite and Skyrim seemed like the most impressive games at E3 from what I saw/read.
After the ridiculous development cycle, this is about what I was expecting. I never quite understood the appeal of Duke Nukem.
Child of Eden certainly looks good, but like the review points out, the gameplay seems pretty derivative. I might try it out at some point though.
My friends and family already know that when Skyrim comes out, they probably won't be able to contact me for a few months lol.
I'd say that Levine quote sums up my thoughts about motion control. If developers want to expand their games by including it, then more power to them. But it shouldn't interfere with the core experience. That's why I feel like the voice recognition in Mass Effect 3 and the touch controls for the PS Vita Uncharted aren't a problem; I don't have to use them.
Great interview, Harada seems like a really cool guy.
I completely agree. Nintendo really needs some great new games, and so do I. With them getting ready to reveal a new system, I think it's the perfect opportunity.
Some good suggestions but in all honesty I've stopped caring about Call of Duty for the most part. I was a huge fan of the first Modern Warfare but the more and more Activision pumps out CoD games, the less and less I care.
I LOVE the idea of having some kind of regulatory group that checks security measures. It still kind of boggles my mind that a hacker (or group of hackers) can infiltrate a huge company's security and compromise customers' personal information. I understand people are mad at Sony, but I'm sure it could have happened to a lot of other companies (and surely has in the past; just perhaps not on the same scale as this recent PSN security breach).
Yeah, emotional investment is key when it comes to the better sex scenes you'll find in a game since they almost always LOOK awkward and out of place. But when I think of a game like Uncharted 2 that effectively uses motion capture, I think at some point games will reach a point where sex scenes don't look so bad. I'm not saying motion capture is the only solution, but I do recall the little scene with Chloe and Nathan at the beginning of the game looked pretty great. I can imagin...
Even though it can be seen as a cash crab, I'm a fan of these HD remakes. I certainly see things like gameplay and story to be more important than graphics, but sometimes it can be tough playing older games since they look so dated. So I enjoy the opportunity to revisit games like God of War and Sly Cooper (and as for the PS3 re-releases, those add trophy support which is pretty cool).
I'm not the biggest Mortal Kombat fan but I love me some crazy fatalities. These are all great picks; I'd probably go with Kung Lao's hat slice as my personal #1.
I also find it hard to address the DLC situation since there seem to be negatives to both sides. Personally speaking I'm opposed to most DLC though there are exceptions (Mass Effect 2's Overlord and Lair of the Shadow Broker come to mind as ways to pull of DLC in an interesting and effective way). As for ME2's Arrival DLC, if the next game is filling you in then I see no problem with linking the stories together.
In regards to mods, I wish they could be introduced to console games. I'm also interested in customization options that even apply to the overall game (the game world, music, etc.), and since I don't do much PC gaming that's something that I often miss out on.
I can understand the concern, but I certainly don't feel Portal was like BioShock. One of the things that made BioShock so great was the excitement and mystery surrounding Rapture; Portal on the other hand was much more about the gameplay experience and sharp writing to me. Sure, the Aperture Science facility was creepy and I wanted to know more about that, but I didn't feel it added significant value to the game. So if Portal 2 wants to elaborate on those elements then that's fin...
After watching Giant Bomb's quick look and reading this review, I have to say this is the first wrestling game I've wanted to play in a long time. Seems like a really fun game.
I've gotta be honest: the Zelda series has always been one that I appreciate but am not a big fan of. I actually played OoT a couple of years back and thought it aged reasonably well (though I agree with the control problems). But that didn't change the fact that I thought it was a great game but by no means one of my favorites. I can certainly understood its legacy though, and it's great that people will get to play it again (or for the first time) on the 3DS.
In games that allow you to have multiple choices over your actions, I certainly think same-sex relationships should be allowed. At that point it's up to the gamer to decide, so if someone is against homosexuality then they don't have to pursue that.
Seems like this was one of the biggest surprises of E3. Never played the first, but the sequel is sounding and looking great.
