hahahaha!!
PS3 was ALMOST a beast. The ram killed it. If it had a full Gig, it would have been good.
If mid 2010 gaming PC means a decent quad core with 4 gigs of ram or so and a nice GPU, then I will be VERY excited, seeing as what Forza 4, Halo 4, and Gears of War 3 look like on 6 year old hardware...
Ok sniperxxx, aka troll. As I said, a PC would need far more than 512 mb of ram to run Halo 4.
Or you could truly try to push out the best possible graphics and do 720p/30fps
Yes. Because a Gaming PC and a console with the same exact specs will not run a game at the same settings. Consoles are very optimized and have much less overhead stress from the OS than a PC.
You would need a PC with way more than 512mb of memory to pull off graphics like Halo 4 does on the xbox, especially if you remember that the xbox shares that memory between the normal ram and video card.
Just saying.
No component input means 480i ONLY. That is ridiculous. With all the missing features, this should be far less than $100. What does it cost them to make this thing, $20 at this point? Lol...
A bit dramatic, aren't we? The concept of time limited demos dates back 20 years...
I thought the point of consoles was that you never had to upgrade them...and games always worked properly. I mean, I certainly DID buy an expansion pack for my N64, but that was the exception. It should have came with 8mb of ram standard.
The contrast on the Mirror's Edge cover is awesome.
Hmm...been ok for me. What system are you on?
Awesome article. That CPU should be a monster...quad core, and each of those cores is further divided into 4 more...plus 8 gigs of ram. Hopefully a strong GPGPU...and augmented reality has some serious potential.

There needs to be a petition for no more petitions.
Lost forever? Um...someone hasn't heard of ebay.
That will be up to the developers. I am willing to bet that some will still choose 720p/30fps to allocate the resources to even better graphics...unless the next gen consoles simply don't support that resolution.
Um, so you think the difference for...say, Halo 5, will be just 1080p versus 720p and 4x AA versus 2X...and that's it? LOL
When I played this level for the first time in 2007, I never saw graphics that realistic on ANYTHING. I remember watching whoever the guy is that you're following running through the grass, leaning around corners, and blending into a tree trunk with his ghillie suit...that was the pinnacle of motion-capture technology. I couldn't tell it apart from a real person. The lighting on that level was amazing, too. It was just grimy and gloomy, yet real. The particle effects of all the dust, ...
I bet most of those PSPs were bought to watch UMD movies and run homebrew. Lol.
I think that even 8gb of ram is a dream. Developer kits typically have twice the ram, so 4gb is a more reasonable assumption. One for OS, three for games. That's 8 times more than the current xbox, and with the way Halo 4, and Forza 4 look on 512mb, it's a huge upgrade...
6gb would be nice, though...
