1) SOCOM is allll about gameplay
2) its a downloadable PSN title, so they're not really using it to its full capablities (a 25GB or 50GB bluray disc)...its most likely a small download
but with that said...SOCOM never revolutionized graphics, but the online gameplay is unmatched
-in-game music / custom soundtracks
-skippable crash sequences
-more vehicles on screen
-more vehicles to choose from
-MONSTER TRUCKS!
-splitscreen
-new crash animations/physics
+ everything else I loved about the first Motorstorm...
how can you not buy this?

supposedly the bigger Gamestops are
Its 'LIMITED EDITION' which means of course they're going to jack the price up. It's a limited color scheme. It's not going to be mass produced and sold in retailers as a new SKU. It's a fan-based machine. It's basically a collector's item.
Why complain about the price? They have a $499 bundle that isn't limited edition which comes with 80GB, a Dualshock 3 and the regular edition of MGS4 and Pain from the PSN.
You decide which one is worth its' value. Don't wanna pay...

its basically a compilation of a couple trailers that have already been released...just 'playable' at some points (of which gameplay has also already been shown)

its the opening we've been seeing for years "the ID tagged soldiers...ID tagged weapons...etc" opening where Snake is on the back of the militia truck
then a seamless transition into gameplay (a la the assassin's creed trailer)
then another seamless transition into cutscene of the Gekkos arrival
then back into gameplay where Snake picks up a weapon and ota...
