Weirdly, I feel the same way about books. All the classics I've read never scare me. King, Lovecraft, you name it, I'm not scared of it. Though books rarely get an emotional reaction from me anyway so I suppose that explains that.
I only care about what lies around the corner. If something's there and I can't hear it beforehand, that's genius. Building atmosphere is an art, and a very hard one to get right.
