jessupj 360 has more than just one feature the PS3 doesn't have. Not just cross game chat, but cross voice, video, and text chat. 360 also has custom soundtracks for every game from any device. All 360's with HDD's are BC. Biggest one of all is P2P, so when EA/Sony want to get greedy and shut down servers after a year, P2P can still play.
I fail to see how Sony fits in a rumor about Activision and MS. Why does Team Sony always make everything about Sony or bitching about MS? It truly is the only thing you guys can do.
Know why they did this right? It's a template for when they add Achievements.
A console which has failed out of existence is a failed console. A console still selling strong, and selling more than last gens winner is far from a failure.

I know, they like to call the 360 "casual" while 360 gamers buy more core titles than everyone else. It's the same when people dismiss the Wii as a "current gen" gaming console so they they don't have to admit it won.
More, they would be bundled light with nearly everything sold separate. That $99.99 can turn into $300.00 real quick.

What's wrong with apps? Phones have apps... so do PC's, tablets, Mac, Nintendo, iPod, TV. Even Sony copied it and added apps to the PS3, and just about everything else they make.
