There's a difference in a Sony owned franchise/company making f2p and a third party studio. There is "console tax" that comes in to account.

improved view distances
sharper image
much higher framerate
better and more responsive controls
moddable files to fit YOUR preferance
dedicated servers unless the dev is stupid

So by NOT implementing changes it stays the same which is CODS biggest fault. It never changes.
Loadouts make sense. Not everyone wants to play DMR all the time or BR all the time like h3 and Reach became.
I like starting with an AR. In the older games and rushing for better weapons.
With loadouts I can do just that.
That's why I always play halo with the iron skull on. Die once and u have to restart the level. Makes it more fun that way.
