You're having a hard time understanding Blaze's logic?

Where have YOU been hiding out?

BEFORE Resistance: FoM... wasn't Killzone released on a PlayStation brand?

BEFORE Killzone weren't shooters such as SOCOM, Half-Life, Quake III, Red Faction, TimeSplitters, Battlefield 2... etc etc etc released on a PlayStation brand?

BEFORE Killzone 2 weren't shooters like CoD 4, Bioshock, Dead Space, The Orange Box (Half-Life 2), Unreal Tournament 3, Tom...

I've already replied...

Technology shifts and changes and prices do too... nobody knows what the next home consoles will have --> BUT <-- you don't think BOTH Microsoft --> and Sony <-- haven't learned a thing or two about pricing from this generation? LOL...

To explain further... in a few more years:

How much will quad-core processors cost? They have them out already - YES?

How much will WiFi cost in a few years?

You're right...

--> Is that the PlayStation 3 has clearly paved the way of the future. Someone tell me what the Xbox 720, or whatever Microsoft calls their next console, can release in store of features that will out-do the PlayStation 3 and at the same time launch at the same or cheaper price as the PlayStation 3 did. It won't. And the tables will turn.

The "Xbox 720, or whatever Microsoft calls their next console" ... couldn't launch --> "at t...

Everyone forgets that Sony has already dropped the PS3 price... but there's also this:

Peter Dille, senior vice president of Sony Marketing and PSN service at SCEA, recently stated: "We're not going to make a price move for PS3; we're not going to be packing five free games into a promotional strategy."

Ehhhhhh?

A console exclusive is a console exclusive - not matter how you slice and dice it.

One example....

Remember the stuff from Sony concerning backwards compatibility on competitors systems?

Remember when Sony dropped PS2 backwards compatibility on the PS3 for various versions?

Look at the fuss over a game developer... what about what Sony has done?

Why the disagrees? Read it for yourselves then. Or continue to hide your heads in the sand and chant --> "let no bad happen"...

Kaz Hirai, was quoted in the February 2009 issue of the Official PlayStation Magazine:

Kaz Hirai: "We don't provide the 'easy to program for' console that (developers) want, because 'easy to program for' means that anybody will be able to take advantage of pretty much what the hardware can do, so then the question is, what...

Bad example...

Remember when Walmart sold BOTH HD DVD and Blu-ray players/Movies?

Remember when Walmart announced it would only carry Blu-ray players/Movies?

I think that's been Sony's ace all along... the belief that the PS3 will grab all those previous PS2 owners --> eventually... so Sony isn't worried about dropping the PS3 price any time soon. I think Sony believes the majority of that huge PS2 army of owners will come on board when Sony is in position to reduce prices.

What are you looking at?

EUROPEAN LIFETIME SALES (France, Spain, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Czech Republic and Australia) + UK LIFETIME SALES =

Xbox 360 - 5.5 Million

PlayStation 3 - 4.5 Million

Maybe you should ask him... id Software have stated that 2 DVD-9 discs will be fine for Rage.

You can keep going back to PREVIOUS comments which have since been explained though... and ignore those.

Everyone knows that top PC hardware is more powerful than any current home console... and yet PC games still come out on MULTIPLE discs don't they?

I don't read many complaints about that... why isn't that a BIG DEAL to people?

This was stated about the PS2 by Gamasutra's Matt Matthews:

"Any consumer waiting to get a PS2 which it reaches $100, as opposed to $130, is cost-conscious enough to avoid expensive new software and opt instead for games from the giant pool of used games available at retailers like GameStop

Sony's Jack Tretton also said this last July:

"I want to understand the consumer that says ‘$129, too rich for my blood, but $99, I’m all over it’. How much s...

Astounding AI... but that's because of hardware limitations.

Second on MY list would be evolving gameplay; meaning gameplay that isn't linear or scripted like we've experienced so far but ever-changing gameplay scenarios, such as enemies that don't do the same things over and over again so that one can learn routines etc etc...

Third on my list... and similar to #2, would be character lines in a game. Thus far there are always limitations on what is said when interac...

It's not the cost of blu-ray... it's the cost of manpower and development time to Game Publishers/Developers when making game content.

How come Sony first party games haven't made any game that FULLY utilizes the PS3 hardware?

Why do certain types of people --> ALWAYS blame 3rd party developers?

Besides... I thought those very SAME types of people don't care about 3rd party games... wasn't it always about the FIRST party PS3 games in ...

How long did it take before the PS2 was so-called --> maxed out and its FULL potential revealed?

How long did it take for a game like God of War to come out on the PS2?

Yet so many of you non-game developers state that the 360 is already maxed out and its FULL potential has been reached? LOL....

--> A grossly overbearing PS3 version is intentionally avoided - larger worlds, better graphics, user features possible with Sony's open development (such as mod downloads as with UT3) on disc features, PSP linkage (Retribution is brilliance) etc etc all cast aside. Such a disparity would alienate 360 owners and damage sales. Never mind the fact those people would eventually purchase a PS3. It's about the right now.

What about Sony's first party games then? How many of the re...

It's not a choice between "realistic graphics vs color" ... Mirror's Edge used the Unreal Engine too you know.

It's a design choice --> not an Ureal Engine --> limitation!
