1- no one has a problem with Ellie being lesbian, straight, bi or anything
2- no one has a problem with Ellie being the lead instead of Joel
3- people have a problem with the story's ending.
pretty easy
you guys are weird as hell. IGN gives it 10/10 you're happy and smiling and agreeing. ign japan gives it 7 and it's an echo chamber of haters? so if there's a bad review or a score under 10 from a legit big gaming company it's hate? it must be 10 or it's hate wow
I think what's sad is game journalism. reviews should end. cause one guy at ign or gamespot or whatever gives a game a score based on his opinion and publish it for millions of people to see. literally 1 guy
a game should never be reviewed by a fan and lover of that game series, as humans we let our emotions intervene , I'll give every outlast game a 10 no matter what, if you give the game to a non-fan and tell him: "play it and finish it then give me your full review from story to gameplay mechanics" you'll probably end up with a more honest review. that's the problem with reviews , humans tend to let their emotions be a factor in the evaluation.
every 10/10 review is biased. a game should be reviewed neutrally and preferably by someone who's not a fan of the series or the studio, for every game not just this one. if you assign me to do a review for the evil within i'll give it a 10. let's get real. the game has a major Story problem that a big portion of the gamers on planet earth didn't like. let's not ignore that and just throw a 10 out there. the game is fairly a 7.5/10
sooo if a legit review is negative it's fake review. and if a gamer writes a negative review it's fake but for IGN to throw a "10/10 masterpiece" out there is reliable? do you see how biased this is
look, the controversy here is about the story. a game can be immersive but it needs a good gameplay and a good story to be a good game. some people are not happy with the direction the game chose to go
who you gonna believe? your fellow gamers buying that game with hard earned money to play it then get disappointed or some game named Bob who's 45 years old and never finished a game in his life. wearing a sweater and typing on a laptop: 10/10 masterpiece for every mainstream game cause his salary depends on that particular line. now not all the metacritic reviews are reliable but not all people there are crazy or children it's over 20K people.
6.5/10 is really fair. look every game that was ever made must have 2 perfect things so you can call it a 10/10 and that's gameplay and story. if one of the two is screwed then it's not a perfect game. and this game screwed up the story. funny thing is that the game relies on narrative
I never buy physical games so it's really a great idea to have a digital only version. that way they won't charge me extra money for that drive I never intend to use. pretty sure it'll be cheaper than the standard.
